First Annual Fire Float

Things You Should Know About The Fire Float
The Fire Float is intended to be a fun and relaxing float down the Susquehanna River from Peddie Park to the Lock Haven City Beach. It is a fundraising effort to raise money and increase awareness for the Lock Haven Fire Departments and their services.
1. Admission - $10 per person, $5 for ages 12 & Under
2. All Floaters must sign a waiver upon entry
3. Floaters 17 and Under must be accompanied by a guardian
4. Floaters 12 and Under must wear a lifejacket
5. You will need proper floating apparel and flotation device (such a raft or innertube)
6. Air compressors provided at Peddie Park to inflate your flotation device
7. Shuttle Bus service will be provided by Susquehanna Transit from Commonwealth University - Lock Haven to Peddie Park beginning at 9:30am and ending around 1:45pm.
8. There will be three pick-up points. The first, curbside near Lot 16 on Susquehanna Ave. The second, curbside at Lot 19 near the Rec Center on Railroad St. The third, curbside near Lot 21 at East Campus on West Main St. (Please refer to the Parking Lot Map).
9. Floaters will enter the Susquehanna River at Peddie Park from 11:00am until around 2:00pm
10. Floaters will exit the Susquehanna River at the Lock Haven City Beach
11. Water Safety will be provided by Citizens Hose Co. and Fish and Boat Commission.
12. Vesper Street will be closed from Water Street to the Dike for vendors and food vendors from 10am to 5pm.
13. For those who wish to use it, shuttle service from Vesper Street back to Commonwealth University - Lock Haven Parking Lots will be available for some time starting around 2pm provided by Susquehanna Transit.
Water Safety will be provided by Lock Haven Fire Department and PA Fish and Boat.
Vesper Street will be closed from Water Street to the Dike for vendors, food trucks, and stands. Anyone interested in a space should contact Schlesinger Communications, Inc. at (570) 748-4038, email info@wsqvradio.com, or in person at 21 East Main Street, Lock Haven.
We’d like to create a festive atmosphere for Floaters and Spectators. Floaters will be able to enter the river from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Vendors will be open until around 5:00pm.
