April 14 & 15 – “The Great War Remembered” – This year marks the 100th anniversary of American combat troops fighting in France and the end of the First World War. This weekend remembers that time with lectures, film and living history encampment that demonstrates life on the Western Front. A Career Fair will be held at Central Mountain High School on Monday, May 8th from 4:00pm-6:00pm.

  7:00PM 8:00PM Stress Management Program to Tame Dragon  

Safe Haven, the Lock Haven University student wellness club, invites local residents to Taming the Dragon: Dealing with Stress and Anxiety featuring Dr. Stacey Pearson Wharton, Wednesday, May 2nd, 7:00 pm, Greenberg Auditorium, Willis Health Professions Center, Railroad Street, Lock Haven University. The keynote speaker will help the audience tame and manage stress. Interactive techniques will reveal the difference between productive motivational stress and problematic anxiety, and offer strategies for training the baby dragon before it becomes a full-blown monster. Dr. Stacey has worked in higher education for over 20 years in a variety of positions and has expertise in social justice issues. She holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Penn State, and Masters in Counselor Education from IUP. The event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in front of Willis on Railroad Street.
